Overview

The Battery Management System (BMS) is responsible for monitoring and managing battery voltage to ensure safe and efficient sensor operation. It checks the battery voltage with an accuracy of 0.3V before every scan, after issuing a version command, and following a reboot command. If the battery voltage drops below the configured threshold, the BMS will shut down the battery, halting sensor operation.

Use anb-utils to configure the BMS, including:

  • Setting battery voltage limits
  • Updating firmware
  • Adjusting date/time
  • Viewing connected sensor data and status

Important: Configure the BMS before connecting the sensor.

Battery Options

We recommend the following Blue Robotics batteries, and can supply housings that accept one or two of these batteries.

  • Lithium-ion 14.8V, 18Ah
  • Lithium-ion 22.2V, 28Ah
